Business Lending Credit Analyst

Role:
The Credit Analyst supports the business team with centralized underwriting, assists with business origination, portfolio management, and other assigned credit functions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assists Business Lending Supervisor in the analysis, servicing, and reporting of the Credit Union's commercial, business, and agricultural loans. Works directly with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions and prepares reports as requested.
- Performs and prepares evaluations of the credit quality of new loans and existing commercial loan portfolio. Prepares the periodic analysis and presents to the Credit Committee for decision
- Originates commercial/business loans as requested by members.
- Prepares appropriate portfolio administration reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience and at least a Bachelor's degree, achievement of formal certifications recognized by the industry (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree.) Work involves effective and efficient communication with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other skills that are highly beneficial include experience in all aspects of real estate, commercial, and consumer lending. A degree in business with an understanding of economics, capable of operating spreadsheets and Microsoft Office products. Must also have good communication skills.
